About SCRYPT
SCRYPT is where money moves: across borders and currencies, on-chain and off. One platform brings together payments, trading, custody and asset management, connecting stablecoin and fiat rails for institutions that move money at scale. Clients are supported by a human desk that runs 24/7.
SCRYPT is a multi-jurisdictional licensed platform headquartered in Switzerland. Licensing and entity information: scrypt.swiss/regulatory.
About the role
You build our payments business. Virtual named accounts, embedded payment accounts, fiat rails, and stablecoin settlement, from nothing to live, inside a licensed perimeter. You pick the banking and payment partners, you design the flow of funds, you write the specification, and you own whether institutional money actually moves.
The Bar
Small team, senior bar, AI-native by default. We hire builders who ship, not managers who maintain. One great hire beats three average ones, so we hold the bar even when the seat is empty. Ownership from week one. Velocity from day one. If you need a long runway before you contribute, this isn't the role.
Key responsibilities
- Take virtual named accounts and embedded payment accounts from concept to live institutional volume
- Select banking and payment partners on rail coverage, pricing, onboarding burden, licensing constraint, and operational reliability, then make the call on sequence
- Run each integration end to end: scoping, specification, engineering coordination, testing, go live
- Design the flow of funds before the build, including safeguarding, reconciliation, failure states, and what happens when a rail goes down
- Design the client journey for funding, collections, and payout, with strong opinions on what an institutional user needs to see at the point of instruction
- Own product decisions across onboarding, trading, custody, and post-trade so payments does not get built in isolation
- Write specifications an engineer ships from without a second conversation, with acceptance criteria and edge cases covered
- Sequence delivery across multiple entities and jurisdictions without duplicating build
- Set the success measure for every release and prove it afterwards
- Build to MiCA CASP and Payment Institution requirements, FINMA expectations, safeguarding of client assets, travel rule, and jurisdictional scope
- Turn regulatory requirements into product requirements early, so authorisation and release timelines stay aligned
- Talk to institutional clients directly and convert what you hear into prioritised decisions
Requirements
- You have personally taken a payments product live under a licence, and you can explain in detail what broke and what you changed
- You have shipped both directions of money movement: inbound collections and outbound settlement
- You have integrated payment infrastructure providers or banking partners hands on, not managed someone who did
- Payments native: flow of funds, rail mechanics, corridor constraints, safeguarding, and how a licence shapes what you are allowed to build
- Comfortable inside a regulated perimeter, working alongside Compliance and external counsel as routine
- Strong written communication: your specifications and decision records carry the argument on their own
- Nice to have: Stablecoin or digital asset settlement experience. Technically fluent in API design, data models, and integration architecture without needing an engineer to translate. Track record at a licensed payments, digital asset, or financial infrastructure company at Series A to C scale
What we offer
- Real ownership of a function - not a slot in someone else's org chart
- A team where AI tooling is native, not a "transformation initiative"
- Direct access to founders, board, and clients. Flat hierarchy, no middle layers
- Meaningful equity in a Series A institutional crypto company building toward unicorn scale
- Swiss-anchored, globally operating - regulatory rigor where it matters, volume where it counts
